Visionary Consulting Partners Celebrates Juneteenth

June 17, 2023

Visionary Consulting Partners, a proud Minority Woman-Owned Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), joins in celebrating Juneteenth. Early Juneteenth celebrations date back to 1866, first held by the Freedmen’s Bureau and Christian Churches all throughout the South. It wasn’t until 2021 when Juneteenth became the first new federal holiday since Martin Luther King Jr. Day was observed for the first time in 1983.

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing pursuit of freedom, unity, and progress. Also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, Juneteenth marks the historic moment on June 19, 1865, when Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and proclaimed the end of slavery, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This significant date honors the resilience, contributions, and cultural heritage of African Americans throughout history.

As part of our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment, Visionary Consulting Partners embraces Juneteenth as a moment for reflection and education. We recognize the importance of this day and encourage our employees to engage in personal reflection and support local Juneteenth events. It is an opportunity to celebrate the triumphs, acknowledge the challenges, and unite as a community.

Visionary Consulting Partners remains dedicated to promoting equality and unity beyond Juneteenth. We strive to create a workplace that values the unique perspectives and experiences of all individuals. Our company is proud to be part of a nation that continuously evolves towards a more just society, guided by the principles of freedom, respect, and unity.
