Visionary’s 2018 Interns Present Research and Receive Award at Health Disparities Conference

Visionary Consulting Partners, LLC (Visionary) presented original research at Xavier University of Louisiana’s 11th Health Disparities Conference. Two of our three accepted abstracts were led by Visionary’s Practice Engagement Interns, who worked diligently to develop and execute independent projects that explored the demands of small and large public health systems through the lens of small business. Hannah Sullivan, a graduating Master of Public Health student from Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine presented her research titled “Understanding the Barriers of Public Health Organizations in Post-Disaster Settings: A Qualitative Analysis.”  Ms. Sullivan was also selected to receive the 2018 “John Ruffin Young Investigators Award” for her research efforts and presented her work during the Plenary Session II & Lunch Keynote Address.  Simone Graham, a graduating Master of Public Health student from LSU Health’s School of Public Health also presented her work titled “Guess Who: An Innovative Approach to Using Technology to Facilitate Collaborative Partnering Between Small Businesses that Support Health Services Institutions”. Ms. Graham’s primary objective was to deliver a fully operable business development application to Visionary’s leadership by the end of her internship.
