With a national and international network of resources, Visionary is readily capable of identifying, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, placing and retaining professional personnel resources that range from entry-level administrative assistants to executive-level professionals that served in high levels of leadership in various government agencies, as well as the private sector.Visionary applies industry best practices, proven business methodologies, and evidence-based disease management models, coupled with real world experience to craft custom solutions that meet the individual needs of each and every client we serve. Visionary’s principal consultants have over sixty years of combined experience in the areas of implementation research, disease management (e.g. asthma), health promotion and health education, health administration, health information technology and management of large-scale projects. Our consultants have expertise in education and training, clinical research and statistical analysis, and communications and marketing. We also take pride in our ability to provide Independent Verification and Validation, Compliance, Reporting, Finance and Fiscal Analysis, and Operations Research services to our clients.
President and Chief Executive Officer
Eleanor (Ellie) Thornton, M.S., MCHES, AE-C is the President, CEO and founding principal consultant of Visionary Consulting Partners, LLC, a Woman-owned, Service Disabled Veteran-owned, and Small Disadvantaged Business headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia. Ms. Thornton provides operational and fiscal direction for the firm’s employees, and oversees multiple corporate to client engagements that aim to promote optimum health for all persons, with a special emphasis on socially and medically underserved populations. Visionary also provides comprehensive support services that include health information technology, program and project management, services integration and consolidation, organizational development, executive and administrative support, procurement support, and staff augmentation. Since founding Visionary in 2008, Ms. Thornton has significantly increased the company’s revenues through purposeful management and offering relevant consulting services to DoD, Federal, State and Local government clients, as well as selected academic institutions and non-profit partners. Her leadership has helped Visionary provide essential services and solutions for the Defense Health Agency, US Agency for International Development, National Institutes of Health, George Washington University, Merck Childhood Asthma Network, and Federally Qualified Health Centers throughout our nation.
Michael D. Thornton, Sr.
Chief Operating Officer
Michael D. Thornton, Sr., M.S., PMP, CPHIMS, FHIMSS is the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Owner of Visionary Consulting Partners, LLC and the principal consultant offering information technology, program management and organizational development services. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration from Tennessee State University and a Master of Science degree in Administration from Central Michigan University. He is a retired career military officer and private sector corporate executive with over 31 years of experience.
The range and depth of his expertise is the product of his managerial, administrative and consulting experience ranging from administrative health care services and information technology project management to organizational development and the management of human capital. He is professionally certified by both the Project Management Institute and the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He has extensive experience with a wide range of information technology activities, including applications development, systems and network integration, innovation diffusion, marketing, customer support, and personnel management. He provided support for the DoD Electronic Health Record initiative since its inception, beginning with the best of breed prototype selection for what is now known as AHLTA.
