Sharing Visionary’s Strategies at VA DOD Suicide Prevention Conference Held on 2 Year Anniversary of Veterans Crisis Line
As the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) marks its second year of 24/7 support with the Veterans Crisis Line (Dial 988 then Press 1), we at Visionary Consulting Partners are honored to have been invited to the 2024 Suicide Prevention Conference hosted by Veterans Affairs (VA) / Department of Defense (DoD). Taking place in Portland, Oregon, the VA/DOD conference purposefully coincides with the 2nd anniversary of the hotline’s launch with the resounding theme “Reimagining Suicide Prevention: Evolving and Innovating to Meet Diverse Needs.”
Team Visionary eagerly prepared an impactful and informative oral presentation on the value in using hybrid outreach methodologies that leverage innovative direct grassroots and digital engagement strategies. What does that mean you ask – get out there and make connections traditionally but enhanced digitally! We use real world experiences including our recent work with the VHA’s Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention (OMHSP) for reimagining sustainable outreach and engagement strategies for successful results among all Veterans, transitioning Service members, and those who support them, particularly those of diverse, underserved communities in support of effective suicide prevention.
Unfortunately, right before the conference Visionary’s presentation team was impacted by Covid-19 and we had cancel travel to Portland and miss the opportunity to present, learn and collaborate with our VA and DoD colleagues and other suicide prevention advocates. Unable to present on a topic so near and dear to our hearts, we regret the missed opportunity but still want to extend an offer to share the presentation with you and your team! Our goal remains to continue the work and share, learn, and support all suicide prevention programs and outreach efforts to Servicemember, Veteran and underserved groups. We would like to thank the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, Veteran Service Organizations and all members of the community engaged in suicide prevention.
