Visionary is proud to announce that Alexis Saucedo has joined our team as the Summer 2018 Practice Engagement Intern. Ms. Saucedo is a Master of Public Health (MPH) student in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences at Louisiana State University (LSU) Health. Ms. Saucedo was born in El Paso, Texas and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She joined the Navy at 18 years old and served as a Hospital Corpsman and Surgical Technologist for eight years. She was also trained in Tactical Combat Casualty Care and Auxiliary Security Force. Alexis moved to New Orleans last summer from San Diego, CA with her husband and 11-year-old daughter, Eden. Professionally, she is interested in childhood organ transplants, mental health, infectious disease, vaccinations and access/barriers to healthcare. Alexis possesses an Associate of Arts/Liberal Arts degree with an emphasis in Applied Health, Nutrition and Kinesiology from Mira Costa College in Oceanside, CA and graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Health Science from California State University in San Marcos, CA. After completing her MPH, Alexis plans to apply to LSU Health’s Physician Assistant Program and specialize in surgery with a special focus on organ transplants.
